Development of Forouzan ‎and Esfandiar Oil Fields

Executive Activities

The implementation work consists of drilling and completion of additional production wells on platforms F2 (7 new and 7 re-entry wells), F3 (6 new wells) and F8 ( 3 new wells), drilling one appraisal well on Esfandiar structure and also, evaluationg the existing facilities in both fields and installing necessary facilities with a view to increasing produced gas output.

Location

Forouzan and Esfandiar fields, both ‎sharing reserves with Saudi Arabia, ‎are located in 99.7 km southwest of Kharg Island.‎

Development of Forouzan ‎and Esfandiar Oil Fields

After the completion of the development operation of two fields, output from Forouzan and Esfandiar field will be 105,000 and 4,000 barrels per day of oil respectively. The present 40,000 barrels per day. Of the tota recoverable reserves of 343 million barrels, over a 25 years period 243 million barrels will be recovered through the development operation. The produced gas (250 million cubic feet per day) will be transferred to Kharg Island by an underwater pipeline.
