Development of Soroosh ‎and Nowrooz Oil Fields

Executive Activities

The implementation work, consists of ‎installing early production facilities, ‎drilling and completion of 10 new ‎horizontal wells and 2 water disposal ‎wells in Soroosh field and 17 new ‎horizontal wells in Nowrooz field, 3 ‎well-head platforms, 3 production ‎platforms, two living-quarters, 1 ‎floating storage unit, 1 oil-pumping ‎unit, pipelines connecting well-head ‎platforms and production platforms, ‎two export pipelines, electric cables etc.‎
Fabrication, majority, structures and platforms were done at Qeshm Island excepting the major soroosh production platform No.1 (SPP10 which was fabricated and assembled at Abudhabi. SPP1 deck weighed around 9200 tones and installation was carried out using " float over " method .

Location

Soroosh oil field is 80 KM west-‎southwest of Kharg Island. ‎
Nownooz field is situated in the ‎northwest of the Persian Gulf, 50 Km ‎north of soroosh fields. ‎

Effective date of contract: November ‎‎1999‎, Final production date (Based on latest approved plan): June 2004, Final production dati (Actual) July 2005

The objective of the development ‎operation is to reach a final combined ‎output of 190,000 barrels a day from ‎the two fields, (100,000 ‎and 90,000 barrels from Soroosh and ‎Nowrooz respectively). Initial production from ‎Soroosh in the first 24 months ‎following the effective date of the ‎contract would be 60,000 barrels per ‎day.‎
Soroosh has an estimated oil-in-place ‎of 7.5 billion barrels. It is estimated that with the use of water injection, ‎‎65% of the reserves will be recoverable.

Nowrooz oil field ‎has oil-in-place and recoverable ‎reserves of 1.9 billion and 550 million ‎barrels respectively.‎
