Early production from Jofeir oilfield by March
An early production of 6000 bpd of crude oil from Jofeir oil field will be possible by the Iranian year's end, ending March 21, 2010, said the project manager of Jofeir oil field development project.

According to PEDEC Public Relations, project manager Eng. Danesh Molayi noted that drilling a new well and maintenance of three existing wells would make this early production possible.

The early produced crude oil is planned to transport to Production Unit #3 of Ahwaz to be processed there, added Molayi.

On the first phase of development project, he said that the investment level will be determined in a call for bids. "It is expected that the call for bids would be finished in early February, and the bid would be communicated to National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC)."

"In the first phase, we try to reach an early production of 15,000 bpd, which will be then processed in Darkhovin Production Unit."

Currently, crude oil from Jofeir oil field is most produced from Ilam reservoir. The crude oil from Jofeir oil field is relatively heavy (23 API).

Development project for Jofeir oil field is now under progress in two parts. In the first part, the project is funded with internal resources of NIOC, while in the second part, a buyback contract is made between PEDEC, and Petro Iran and Belarus Naft companies.

Jofeir oil field is located in Southwestern Iran, 50 kilometers away from West Ahwaz, and 30 kilometers away from east of Azadegan field.
